Farm Facilities
Under vast premises overlooking the foot of Mt. Fuji and an optimal natural environment, we are carrying out one-site production where breeding and rearing are managed in the same location. We have three conventional pig houses and one Specific Purpose (SP) pig house within the premises.
1st Pig House
Used as a breeding section where breeding, feeding of pregnant sows, giving birth, and nursing of newborn piglets are conducted.
Capacity: Approx. 120 Pigs
Age Range: 0 week old - over 10 years old
2nd Pig House
Used as a mooring section where feeding (single housing) of mature pigs, management of pigs subject to shipment and experiments are conducted.
Capacity: Approx. 130 Pigs
Age Range: 1 year old - under 5 years old
Container Pig House
Used as a rearing section where feeding (group housing) of piglets after their nursing period, management of maturing pigs’ body shapes, and other various selections are conducted.
Capacity: Approx. 260 Pigs
Age Range: 0 week old - under 5 years old
SP Pig House (Specific Purpose Pig House)
Use as a creation and rearing of pigs not vaccinated with CSF and pigs for research purposes.
Capacity: Approx. 180 Pigs
Age Range: 0 week old - under 5 years old
Laboratory
Under appropriate guidance and management of veterinarians, various treatments such as delivery by cesarean section and thymectomy of newborn piglets are performed in the laboratory.
